Juventus v Lazio
Tuesday, 10. April 2012
With Milan throwing away important points, Juventus
grabbed the top spot on the table and the team undefeated in 31
matches this season is looking like clinching the title.
Juventus has only a one-point
lead and is in a situation where winning all their remaining
seven matches would see them lift the trophy after a long, long
time.

Lazio
is the key match for Juventus. In the remaining six rounds
after this match, Juventus is playing much weaker opponents and it
would be safe to say all those six matches are winnable. Apart from
the home match against out-of-shape Roma two rounds from now,
Juventus will be playing the likes of Cesena, Novara, Lecce, Cagliari and
Atalanta in their run to secure the scudetto.
Lazio has plans of their own. They're holding the third spot on the table, which is guaranteeing Champions League qualifications, with three points over Udinese and six over Napoli, and wouldn't want to let it go. Lazio has been showing the most stable form in the league apart from Juventus and Milan, and although they did not perform very well in visiting matches lately, losing most of them, repeatedly getting three points at home was enough to jump over Udinese and Napoli, who are in awful form. Lazio won against Napoli 3-1 in the last round, and also took out Milan 2-0 and Fiorentina 1-0 recently. However, all those matches were played at home. Lazio lost six of their last eight visiting matches after being undefeated on the road previously in this season.
The quite long disabled list in Lazio is dominated by Miroslav Klose. The key striker of the club has been injured for three rounds now, and although Lazio did manage to get some points, it's much easier to stop their offense when Klose isn't on the pitch as they no longer have diversity. To make matters even worse, four regular defenders and three regular midfielders are out as well. Brocchi, Dias, Stankevicius and Lulic won't play, and Biava, Matuzalem and Radu do have a chance of recovering in time for this match.
Juventus is priced at 1.500 at 888Sport to take another three points and open the door towards securing the title, and Lazio is priced at around 4.400 on Betfair to make Serie A interesting by taking a point in Turin. Lazio's victory is rewarded with odds 9.250 at Pinnacle Sports.
With Miroslav Klose out, Juventus' defence will have an easier job at home. They didn't concede a goal for five rounds now, as their determination in winning the Italian title is mostly seen in their defensive efforts. Lazio has been pretty unstable on the road recently and although they would like to win some points to keep Udinese away from their third spot, it's just as unlikely as the odds suggest.
Suggestion:
Juventus to win to nil, 2.380, William Hill
